For sale: three vintage books of gold leaf sheets produced by George M. Whiley Gold & Silver Beaters.
Two of the books contain 24 sheets of gold that are almost perfectly intact with only minor losses to the gold leaves (please see the photos).
The third book has only 15 leaves remaining (and one partial leaf - see the last photo).
George M. Whiley Gold & Silver Beaters was founded in 1783 in London, England. It continued operating under its own name until 1982 when it was acquired by API Group.
Probably, the address of the shop at Victoria Road, Ruislip, Middlesex, may point to the fact that these sheets were produced in the middle of the 20th century.
